State Senator David Hann and Representative Jenifer Loon, both of Eden Prairie, announced today that they will join with local business leaders, plus Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development Commissioner Dan McElroy, Human Services Commissioner Cal Ludeman, and Revenue Commissioner Ward Einess in an economic roundtable discussion, Tuesday, September 8, at 2 p.m. at the Eaton Corporation in Eden Prairie.
The roundtable kicks off a statewide series of meetings that will bring together regional business leaders, state government decision makers, and others to exchange ideas about jumpstarting Minnesota’s economy. A media availability will follow the roundtable discussion at 3:30 p.m. to announce other locations in the statewide tour.
“We chose Eaton as the springboard for these discussions because they are a diversified global innovator that has been able to weather the tough economy,” Hann said. “We are pleased that they are willing to open their doors to us and to other businesses for an exchange of ideas.”
“We want to hear from people trying to stay one step ahead of the curve and learn from them what they need to meet their goals for expansion and job creation,” Loon said. “Growing private sector jobs is essential for economic recovery in Minnesota. This will be the first of many roundtables that will help guide our agenda for the 2010 legislative session.”
“As a leader in electrical, fluid, and mechanical power management, including the emerging hybrid power, Eaton welcomes Job Summit participants. With manufacturing expertise spanning 98 years, Eaton is honored that you have chosen to be here today,” – said William VanArsdale, President of the Hydraulic Group at Eaton.
Other attendees include House Republican Minority Leader Kurt Zellers, Maple Grove, Senate Republican Minority Leader David Senjem, Rochester, and more than 30 business leaders from the southwest metro.
