Last Friday, St. cloud TEA Party activists got their first glimpse of a rising star in the conservative movement. Sanu Patel-Zellinger is this rising star's name.
Sanu was the final speaker at last Friday's event. Suffice it to say that her speech provided an inspirational close to the event, which was attended by approximately 200 people.
Sanu spoke proudly about her moving from India to the land of opportunity, of her getting a job with Seagate Technology to pay her way through college to her graduation and becoming a successful businesslady.
The heart of Zellinger's speech, though, was this riff about the things she didn't see as providing Minnesotans with opportunities:
However there are many things being offered to us today which are not opportunities.
Socialized medicine? No thank you!
Bailouts? No thank you!
Nationalization of private industry? No thank you!
Irresponsible spending with no accountability? No thank you!
Ms. Zellinger certainly wasn't bashful in talking about her love of the Constitution, saying that the genius of America's Founding Fathers was creating a "Constitution that keeps a check and balance on government", a point that can't be emphasized too much while this administration is in office.
