Follow your Congressman? There's an App for that
By Derek Brigham
Guess who has an app? Erik Paulsen from CD3 MN. High tech fluff, or important constituent outreach and transparency breakthrough, you make the call. But more to the point, I wonder if it has much real political value? We know Obama was a master, or rather his campaign was masterful at utilizing online and phone tech for voter ID, fundraising and gathering astroturf. This makes sense of course on a presidential level, with a cult-like campus following, that's one thing.... Republican House races? a very different beast. But probably in time. Kudos to Erik for embracing the tech.
To help keep Minnesotans better informed when they’re on the go, Representative Erik Paulsen (MN-03) has launched an iPhone application. The app synchronizes with Rep. Paulsen’s website and provides instant mobile access to current legislation, news and events. Users can also contact Rep. Paulsen’s office directly through the app.
“Making sure that my constituents are well informed is one of my top priorities,” said Rep. Paulsen. “This new iPhone app is just another tool that allows me to make sure Minnesotans have the latest news from Washington. In today’s busy world, many people use their smart phones for everything and this application makes it easy for people to stay informed despite their hectic schedules.”
