New CD3 Proposed Redistricting by the House

The House in an effort led by Rep. Sarah Anderson of the current SD43 A in Plymouth, has released their Congressional Map proposal. You can find the proposed CD maps as well as reports and text files here.

In the case of Congressional District 3, represented by Erik Paulsen, our land mass would nearly double. Granted, not in to as densely populated regions as the current west metro, but most of the areas are very friendly to Republicans currently held by CD2. The DFL and Governor Dayton will not be submitting a plan, but you can count on plenty of hand-wringing and complaining about 'rank unfairness'. The truth is, these boundaries have simply been adjusted to reflect population shifts over the last 10 years. Republicans benefit because we have been having more babies and have been moving to areas that favor more prosperity, better schools, and business friendly environments.

Here is a map of the proposed CD3. As you can see from the map, I superimposed the current CD3 in red over the House's proposed redistricting. CD3 would lose Coon Rapids, Brooklyn Center, and Portions of Brooklyn Park and it's one precinct of Hopkins (shown in blue).
